Windstorm Mina was the first windstorm and first storm the Kiewii-CobraStrike Global Analytical Cyclone Center (KCSGACC) issued advisories on. They were initiated while Mina had gale-force winds near 55 north, 23 west on July 2, 2012. The system headed east for a short period of time before turning to the southeast. It is estimated that Mina made landfall near Balincolla, Ireland at about 1330 UTC on 4 July and then she made landfall on Feaklecally, Ireland at about 1445 UTC. Cahirkeen, Ireland was the location the storm made it's third landfall on at about 1745 UTC. Mina headed out over the far eastern Atlantic Ocean where she weakened. At the time of the French landfall near Gwel Kaer at about 1800 UTC on July 3, the system had weak winds of 30 mph. Due to large interaction with land and also difficulties locating the real center of the storm, Mina was declared a post-windstorm at 2100 UTC on July 5 near Kergriestien, France.

During the whole of Mina's existance, models remained unclear about where this storm would end up. Particuarly near the end of her life. A day before Mina dissipated, the KCSGACC forecasted that the storm would re-enter the English Channel, strengthen and make landfall on South-east England, bringing major flooding. However, this happened to be false since a new low, named Barnabas formed over the Netherlands and took the track Mina should have went.

You can view the storm track in Google Maps, or as a .kml file. The archives of the advisories are still available to view below.
